The United States is the home of the second largest Persian-speaking community outside of Iran. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, the Iranian-American population is estimated at 470,000 people. The primary concern of the Iranian-American community in the U.S. is the continuity of preserving their Persian identity through the education of their children.
Realizing this important mission since 1981, Alavi Foundation has supported weekend Persian schools throughout the United States. This program has been instrumental and vital to the continuity and preservation of the Persian heritage within the Iranian-American community.
